
More About Early Childhood Sunday School
Nursery and Toddler Sunday School
Generally, babies and toddlers will spend the both Sunday school and the worship service in the nursery. Pagers are available for your convenience and peace of mind.
A typical morning in the nursery and toddler classrooms
• Toddlers will have an age-appropriate simple lesson from the Hand's-On Bible Curriculum (Group Publishing).
• Staff and volunteers will play with and read short Bible storybooks to them.
• They will be rocked, held and/or encouraged to play.
• They will enjoy light snacks (If provided by the parent, special snacks, bottles and meals may be given.)
• They will have their diaper changed or be assisted with bathroom needs.
• Cribs, in an adjoining quiet room, are available for napping babies.
• Caregivers will pray for them.
What to Bring
We recommend the following diaper bag contents, all labeled with your child's name:
• Diapers
• Wipes
• Pacifiers
• Bottles or sippy cup
• Extra change of clothing
• Your child's comfort item or blanket
• Special snacks or food items (We provide snacks such as graham crackers or animal crackers. Let us know if your child cannot have these items; you are welcome to provide your own snacks.)
• First Pres' policy does not allow medications of any type in the diaper bags.
Preschool, Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten
All Preschool, Pre-K and Kindergarten classes use the Hand's-On Bible Curriculum (Group Publishing), which offers a variety of age-appropriate learning activities.
A typical morning in Preschool, Pre-K and Kindergarten classes:
• They will grow in their knowledge and faith of our Lord Jesus Christ.
• They will get to know Cuddles, Whiskers, or Pockets (puppets) who will help them apply weekly Bible lesson truths into their everyday lives.
• They will enjoy activities like story time, art projects and games.
• They will build peer friendships.
• Often, they will have snacks as a part of the curriculum. (If your child has dietary restrictions, please let the Sunday school teacher know.)
