Director of Care, Seniors, and Adult Ministry
Dan has been married to his wife, Denise, for 46 years. He just recently came on staff as the part-time Director of Care, Prayer, and Senior Adults.
Dan retired in the summer of 2014 after 33 years of pastoring small congregations in New Mexico and the Texas Panhandle. Prior to pastoral ministry, Dan received two degrees in forestry/soil science and then worked for the federal government. Upon retiring, he and Denise moved back to Amarillo, where they had met and married in 1972.
Ordained by Trinity Fellowship in Amarillo in May 1981, Dan and his family then moved to New Mexico to pastor. The following 33 years involved pastoring Southern Baptist, interdenominational, Church of the Brethren (as an interim) and finally United Methodist churches.
In addition, Dan served as a volunteer prison chaplain for 10 years, as a hospice chaplain, and in nursing homes and alcohol rehab facilities as a Bible teacher/chaplain.
Dan has two daughters, one son and four grandchildren. He enjoys building furniture out of old doors and windows and various scraps of lumber, as well as reading theology and history.
