Join us as we pray for a moving, God-glorifying Holy Week as we kick it off with Palm Sunday on April 2. Invite someone to be your guest as we honor and celebrate the Risen King Jesus! Our 4Amarillo Maundy Thursday service will be held at Polk Street United Methodist church this. year. Our very own Rev. Dr. Howard Griffin will be preaching. We hope to see you there! Good Friday is April 7 this year, and our service of diminishing lights begins at 8 p.m. in our Sanctuary. Make plans to attend this powerful Tenebrae service. The music joins with the spoken word to create an atmosphere that moves from subdued passion into dramatic, dark climax. This service provides a vivid contrast to the exuberance and joy of Easter Sunday and helps us understand what Christ sacrificed for us. Donate Families are invited on a journey through six stations throughout the church that tell the Easter story. We will start in the Parlor and then head into the Kids' Wing for Station #1. This is a great opportunity to invite your family and friends to church with you. Look for invitation cards for this event to give to your people at the Kids' Wing check-in desk. Church members are WELCOME to join in! We have three services on Easter Sunday. We encourage our members and regular attenders to come to one of our Traditional services in the Sanctuary, if possible, so that there will be plenty of room for more guests at 11:05, which tends to fill up fast.

Austin, Led by Holly Haines (949) 939-0094 What is CONNECT Mentoring Ministry? It is a ministry of love. Committed older Godly women from First Presbyterian Church who desire to connect with younger women in prayerfully matched pairs will establish one-on-one relationships as they walk together through life in Christ. These pairs will meet regularly to discover spiritual gifts, share accomplishments, joys, frustrations, failures, and fellowship. The wisdom and Biblical legacies the mentors have will demonstrate to the younger women how to know God more intimately, to establish a lifestyle that includes Jesus, and to build a legacy founded on Christ. Connecting with one another now will build Christ-centered legacies that will bless families and the church today as well as the generations of tomorrow. If this ministry is one you would like to be a part of, please email Emily at emilyw@firstpres.com or call Joyce in the church office. IF:Table meets each month on the 2nd Tuesday , 5:30 - 7:30 pm . ELEMENTARY Home / Ministries / First Pres Kids / Elementary Sunday School Sunday 9:45am-10:45am Our Elementary Ministry, for children 1st through 5th Grade, meets on the 2nd floor of the Kids Wing. Please come in the main doors to the church building, come to the middle of the Great Hall to find the glass doors into the Children's Wing. These doors remain locked during the Sunday School hour to keep anyone from roaming through these areas where children are learning and playing. We have a check-in desk and volunteers who will help you know what to do and where to take your kids. Our talented Kids Ministry staff and great volunteers lead, teach, encourage and love the children who come through our doors every week. All of our leaders have completed background checks to help ensure that our children can learn about the Love of Jesus in a comfortable and safe environment. Teaching the Word of God to eager, young hearts is our passion. In 2021 the Kids Ministry started teaching from Group, Inc.'s curriculum called DIG IN. We are studying The LORD's Prayer. ABOUT Home / About We'd love to answer any questions you might have about First Pres. Look through these pages to learn more, but if you don't find the answer you're needing, give us a call! First Presbyterian is a body of believers who seek to discover and live the way of Christ in the expansive grace of God. We believe that Jesus Christ alone is Lord, and we are called to share His love with others through both word and deed. As Presbyterians, we affirm the FIVE SOLAS of the Protestant Reformation: Grace Alone, Faith Alone, Christ Alone, Scripture Alone, and Glory to God Alone. We believe we are saved by grace alone (Ephesians 2:8-9), through faith alone (John 3:16), through Christ alone (John 14:6), and Scripture alone is our authority in faith and life (2 Timothy 3:16-17), as we seek to give all glory to God alone (1 Corinthians 10;31). We are members of the Covenant Order of Evangelical Presbyterians (ECO). To learn more about what we believe as Presbyterians, please go to our denomination’s web page where you can find our essential tenets and our confessional standards. Hopefully, by scanning through our website and the website of our denomination, you will learn a little more about who we are, what we believe, why we do what we do, and how we seek to live that out.
