It is a ministry of love. Committed older Godly women from First Presbyterian Church who desire to connect with younger women in prayerfully matched pairs will establish one-on-one relationships as they walk together through life in Christ. These pairs will meet regularly to discover spiritual gifts, share accomplishments, joys, frustrations, failures, and fellowship. The wisdom and Biblical legacies the mentors have will demonstrate to the younger women how to know God more intimately, to establish a lifestyle that includes Jesus, and to build a legacy founded on Christ. Connecting with one another now will build Christ-centered legacies that will bless families and the church today as well as the generations of tomorrow. If this ministry is one you would like to be a part of, please email Emily at or call Joyce in the church office. To order and pay for your 2021-2022 Women's Yearbook, click here . Bible Studies & Resources for Women from Emily Wood I know this is not as good as sitting together around a table looking at each other’s beautiful smiling faces; however, God has given us technology and podcasts and apps, and below are some ways to take advantage of it! Please look over the list below of online opportunities and study resources. Contact Emily at 350-5218 for questions and to give feedback. -- A great Bible study resource from Jennie Allen is the IF:Gathering website. Various Bible studies - click here . -- Proverbs 31 Ministries , run by Lysa Terkeurst (click here ), includes all kinds of resources, including the First Five Daily Bible Study app (click here ). Both are highly recommended by Shauneen Hatfield and other women in our church. -- The Bible Recap (click here ) is recommended by Shelley Chaloupka & Vicki Keister. You can find The Bible Recap plan on the YouVersion Bible app many of us already have on our phones (click here ). You can also subscribe to The Bible Recap podcast. This is a great way to get into the Word of God! -- Study Gateway (click here ) is recommended by Laurie Pinkston. It includes access to more than 2,500 video Bible studies from all our favorite teachers. You can get a free trial on this site to check it out. Please let me know if you are interested in this, and we can purchase a church account to share with all of you! SERVE NOW Home / Ministries / Missions / We Support Upcoming Service Events Angel Tree 2021 For over 10 years, our church family has loved supported and encouraged families in Amarillo through Prison Fellowship. Year after year, the deacons call each family and check on them. They confirm the needs and requests sent by the imprisoned parent with the current caregiver. Our amazing church families chose angels from the tree and shopped to ensure each child would know they were not forgotten, so each child would truly know they were loved at Christmas. Presents wrapped in prayers and paper were returned to the church, checked and sorted in preparation for the party. On a December Saturday morning for eleven years, Christmas came early to “prison orphaned” children. Amidst the pandemic last year our church had the choice to let Prison Fellowship do all the work: the contacting, the checking, the gift card purchasing and sending. In our hearts, we knew this wasn’t how Jesus called us to serve. He didn’t simply send us salvation or deliver it through angelic mail. He came. He loved. He served. We want to be like Jesus! Therefore, with last year’s Christmas Parade being such a success and within the parameters of the pandemic, we are still going to love and serve. We are going to keep our “Angels” and members safe. In the Great Hall, this year you will still find a tree with Angel names. Instead of shopping, you are donating $35 toward a Walmart gift card. These gift cards will be stuffed in sacks full of candy and treats as well as a warm fluffy blanket. Each gift and a pizza will be delivered on Saturday, December 18, 11:00 am – 12:00 pm during our Drive-by Angel Tree Parade. Please join us. We are looking forward to loving and serving like Jesus. If you have questions, please email Anita Goodrum or call her at 350-5202.
