- Heidi Corona
Home / About / Our People / Staff STAFF Home / About / Our People / Staff / Heidi Corona Administrative Assistant for First Pres Kids Heidi Corona serves part-time as the Administrative Assistant of the Kids’ Ministry of First Pres. She has been on staff since the summer of 2015. Heidi was a missionary’s kid, then a preacher’s kid, then a pastor’s wife, and now a servant of Kids’ Ministry. She has a deep love for the Church, God’s family. Heidi graduated from Ozark Christian College with a Bachelor in Biblical Studies in 1994. She has volunteered for many years in her home church, serving alongside her pastor-husband, Greg. They have two grown children, Aidan and Wilson, who both work in their home church as well. Heidi was delighted when God opened the door to serve at First Pres with this amazing staff and wonderful congregants. A favorite verse is John 6:66-69 where some of Jesus' followers didn't really like what Jesus was saying anymore, "they turned away and deserted him. Then Jesus turned to the twelve and asked, 'Are you also going to leave?' Simon Peter replied, 'Lord, to whom would we go? You have the words that give eternal life. We believe, and we know you are the Holy One of God." heidic@firstpres.com (806) 350-5211

- Nominating Officers for 2025 | Firstpres
WE HAVE ONLY RECEIVED A HANDFUL OF NOMINATION FORMS, AND WE NEED YOUR HELP NOMINATING FAITHFUL MEMBERS WITH HEARTS TO SERVE! Our officers lead and enable much of the ministry done in and through FirstPresbyterian Church. Who do you know that would be a good candidate for the office of Elder, Deacon, Trustee, or CNC Member at Large? You can email your recommendations to cnc@firstpres.com , drop the forms in an offering plate, or bring the form in to the Church Office during the week. We need your help identifying who in our Congregation would make a great leader! Deadline for nominations is July 24, 2022. If you're not sure what is required of the officer roles, you can read more below: WHO MAKES A GOOD ELDER? Elders should be persons of faith, dedication, and good judgment. Their manner of life should be a demonstration of the Christian gospel as they seek to shepherd God's people. It's the duty of Elders, individually and jointly, to strengthen and nurture the faith and life of the Congregation. Together with the Pastors, Elders prayerfully seek to discern God's vision for First Pres Amarillo. As a part of this vision, Elders encourage people in the worship of God and work to connect them to the body of Christ. As shepherds of God's people, Elders care for the flock, with special attention to the sick, the lonely, and those who are oppressed. They will assist in worship and cultivate their ability to teach the Bible and may be authorized to preach where the regular ministry of the Word and Sacrament is unavailable. WHO MAKES A GOOD DEACON? The office of Deacon as set forth in Scripture is one of sympathy, witness, and service after the example of Jesus Christ. Persons of spiritual character, honest repute, of exemplary lives, brotherly and sisterly love, warm sympathies, and sound judgment should be chosen for this office. Deacons are servant leaders who help mobilize our church for service in Amarillo and around the world. Deacons serve as the chief operating officers of First Pres Amarillo with the responsibility for carrying out the vision of the church by means of its mission and program ministry. As a part of First Pres' GROW and SERVE strategies, Deacons help provide opportunities for the members of the church to GROW and SERVE both inside and outside the walls of the church. They help plan and lead special events that help our church members use their God given gifts for ministry. WHO MAKES A GOOD TRUSTEE? Trustees have the primary responsibility of stewarding resources to carry out the vision of the Session. The new Board of Trustees will serve as the chief financial officers of First Pres. Working with the Communications, Stewardship, Finance, and Properties committees, the Trustees help raise and manage the necessary capital to do the work of God's Kingdom by means of the mission and ministries of First Pres Amarillo. WHO MAKES A GOOD CNC MEMBER? Working with the two Elders and Deacon on the Church Nominating Committee, the CNC Members at Large prayerfully discern whom the Lord is calling to serve as the next class of Elders, Deacons, Trustees, and CNC Members at Large.

FEATURED MISSIONARY Home / Ministries / Missions Worship Grow Connect Meet this month's Featured missionaries Craig Brown Nashville, Tennessee Serve LOCAL SUPPORT US & WORLD SUPPORT SERVE NOW Craig Brown is from Dallas, Texas. He attended Vanderbilt University and Covenant Seminary in St. Louis. Our church is supporting the efforts Craig is leading to plant a Presbyterian Church in East Nashville. Craig has spoken at one of our All Church Retreats and helped us in trying to reposition Covenant Presbyterian a few years ago. Redeemer Fellowship Nashville is planning to move its Sunday morning worship services to the Edgehill community. This repositioning will provide an accessible central location from which we can fortify and expand the fruitful ministry taking place in both south Nashville and Downtown. We are launching new City Groups the week after Easter and will be going through Life Explored. These groups serve the dual purpose of both discipleship and evangelism. Interceding, investing, and inviting into the experience and extension of God’s love is our passion and mission for the Spring. Thank you for keeping Craig and his efforts to reach people for Christ in your prayers.
