Amanda and Michael Torres – Fayetteville Arkansas
Navigator Staff at University of Arkansas
God gripped our hearts and changed our lives as college students. Both of us started following Jesus in high school, but during Amanda’s time at West Texas A&M and Michael’s time at Texas A&M, God used people in The Navigators to help us see how we can know God deeply, walk with Him sincerely, and be used by Him to bring Him glory and bring people into His kingdom. Through Life-to-Life discipleship, people came alongside both of us to help us grow in our relationship with Jesus and live out His Commission to make disciples of all nations. Knowing we could live this kind of life, as well as see others who actually are living it out, made a huge impact on us!
With the desire to give ourselves to this ministry we joined The Navigators staff after graduation in order to continue coming alongside college students to help them know Christ, make Him known, and help others do the same. After serving several years on staff at Texas A&M, we got married, and in 2015 we moved from Texas A&M to serve at the University of Texas at Austin. After serving for six years at UT, we were invited to join The Navigators work at the University of Arkansas where the mission remains the same: to help college students know Jesus and equip them to do the same with others.
Amanda was introduced to First Presbyterian Church by Bruce and Rosie Das and had the privilege to intern for A&O her last semester at WTAMU. Throughout her internship and since being on staff with The Navigators, we have felt incredibly cared for by the First Pres congregation. Thank you for your generous support, enduring prayers and encouragement for over a decade! We are so grateful for you!
