KNOW The Theologians (Sep. 3 – Oct 8) Room 206 – Howard Griffin In the rich history of the Church, there have been certain theologians who have helped clarify what Scripture teaches by writing creeds, or statements of faith, that still help guide the Presbyterian Church today. Come join us as we gather to discuss theologians like Irenaeus of Lyons, a student of John the Apostle, who helped form the Apostles’ Creed. We will look at Athanasius who helped write the Nicene Creed, the most ecumenical creed in the history of the Church. Of course, we will look at the life and writings of Martin Luther and John Calvin who helped guide the Protestant Reformation, helping us see that we are saved by grace alone, through faith in Christ alone, and Scripture alone is our authority in faith and life, as we seek to give all glory to God alone.
